Holiday Rentals (actually HomeAway) has changed dramatically in the
last year or two. Firstly, it has bought up several of its bigger competitors.
Some of these have been merged into the main sites, giving them 10s
of thousands of available rental properties. This has disadvantages for
property owners, in that their properties can now be submerged in a mass
of competitors, and for potential renters who see only a small selection of
available properties as the result of a search and may be missing out on
seeing properties which would better meet their needs.
